Hello, Sun.

It was absolutely GORGEOUS out today. 46 degrees and sunny. I was walking around all day with the BIGGEST smile on my face and the weather definitely had something to do with it. And for the first time in forever (no frozen pun intended), NO BOOTS!  I love my bean boots and my hunters, but it’s been a long winter and my legs are dying to breathe. I may go bare-legged tomorrow if I’m REALLY feeling daring, but we’ll see.

Dress: Boutique near my hometown, brand is Romeo and Juliet Couture/ Shirt: Banana Republic/ Necklace: J.Crew/Tights: Target/Shoes: Modcloth.

I totally stole the idea for this outfit off of Pinterest. I’ve been feeling kind of uninspired lately, and this morning I quickly searched “classic style” to see what I could come up with. There was an almost overwhelming amount of striped tops with crisp, white bottoms. I’ve recently made a couple orders with white bottoms in them (The J.Crew fluted skirt in Ivory and the Old Navy Pixie pants in classic white), but neither have come yet and I really wanted to try out this look. So, I improvised with a white lace dress and a blouse over it. I LOVE this Banana Republic shirt-I picked it up when I was home for thanksgiving and I wear it all the time. It’s so classic and I can layer almost any statement necklace over it. Today, I chose my cluster faux-pearls from J.Crew. Confession: they’re actually from CrewCuts, but no one would ever know ;). I finished it off with navy tights and the adorable Modcloth bow flats I talked about a few posts back. I really like how this outfit turned out- i’ve never really been used to mixing textures and patterns before, but I think stripes and lace are a really easy and classic way to do it. I can’t wait to keep experimenting in the spring!

What has this “heatwave” brought out in your wardrobe? What are you excited to wear this spring?

Much love,

Sarah.
